Jesus and Empire

Living with Empire: Jesus, Demons, and Communities of Resistance, or Jesus and Empire, is an academic class that was historically sponsored in part by Eden Theological Seminary.  It is now taught by the Rev. Jon Stratton, Rector at Trinity-Central West End and founding director of Deaconess Anne House. Corps members learn about the radical political activism of the early Christian community and its creation of counter-cultural communities that actively resisted the oppression (economic, political, religious, etc) of the Roman Empire. Corps members then develop strategies that assist the church in creating anti-empire communities in the present American context.

Jesus and Empire meets on the third Friday of every month from 1:30 to 3:30 PM.
