Introducing the Deaconess Anne House Director: The Rev. Michaelene Miller
She joins DAH from the Diocese of Arkansas, where she most recently served as the Curate at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Russellville. As the Curate, she worked largely with youth, college, and young adult ministries. Michaelene was born and raised in Little Rock, AR where her faith was formed as she attended Episcopal schools from Kindergarten through high school. She received a BA in Psychology from Hendrix College and her MDiv from Virginia Theological Seminary. Michaelene was ordained as a priest in the Fall of 2018. When she is not working, one may find Michaelene cleating up for a game of Ultimate Frisbee, reading with a cup of tea, or hiking through the great outdoors with her Fiancé, Ernest, and her dog, Rusty. She is excited and grateful to answer this call to serve as the Director of the Deaconess Anne House.
Michaelene said, “As an alumna of the Deaconess Anne House, I am overwhelmed with joy and so grateful for the opportunity to serve this program. It was at the DAH where I began to learn what it meant to live fully as a Christian and how to follow God’s call to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly (Micah 6:8). I am looking forward to walking with other young adults as they discover their own truths throughout their year of learning how to live intentionally in a Christian community.”
Michaelene begins August 1st, 2019.
