Community Life at Deaconess Anne House

We take the practice of faith and justice very seriously, most of the time! This is a community that lives, prays, advocates and plays together! Here's what a typical week looks like at Deaconess Anne:
Monday through Friday we begin our day together in Morning Prayer. Then it's off to our placement sites.
Monday evenings, we gather for Community meal and Eucharist/Communion.
Fridays we come together for Morning Prayer and Chapter Meetings - reviewing any concerns of our common life, then have class and conversation on Discernment. After lunch, we are joined by leaders to guide us in Community Organizing training or in Faith Practices.
One Saturday a month, the community participates in an activity that serves the wider community - at church, in the neighborhood, or the city. One great blessing is that we have alumni corps members from prior years still living in town. They join us on various occasions.
